Re: Family Drama

Him and his wife went to a big christian college.out east and they took classes and were trained on how to raise fund to support themselves on the mission field. When I say took classes i mean the entire purpose of the class was to teach them to ask people for money. They have not been in the minist...

Re: Family Drama

Thank you for the replies. Dwight... I've lost confidence in the churches ability to correct members of its congregation. TheEditor I would say his actions are very fraudulent. He is making people believe there is a need when there is no need at all. The first video of his GoFundMe campaign he menti...

Family Drama

My brother-in-law was a music minister years ago but has not been for many years now. He moved to another city years ago because "God told him to". He keeps having kids because of a "building Gods army" mentality. Along the way he has written numerous letters asking for money. He also has 3 business...

Re: Mormon mixing

Thanks for the thoughts. I have similar sentiments, however it's good to touch base to be aware of potential dangers. With them being so much into evangelism I didn't want to go looking for trials.

Mormon mixing

We called a music store to find a piano teacher nearby and were referred to a nice lady in our little town of about 2000. She is Mormon. She is a nice lady and does a good job and my general inclination is she's doing fine so why would I care. Generally speaking I don't think we should put up walls....

Re: Awanas

Thank you for the replies. I told the kids we're passing on the program for now. That will give me another 4-5 months to stew it over though I'm inclined to stay away. I would still encourage you to express your concerns to the AWANA leaders and/or pastor of the church. It might be helpful for them...

Re: Awanas

True, I don't mind the idea of them inviting kids to church. I do mind the motivation. I want them to develop a love for their neighbor not a love for them self. Seems to me that the kids that invited them were doing so not because they had a genuine care for our kids but because they get a candy ba...

Awanas

So.... My wife and I are trying to determine if we are too uptight or not and would like to take into account some other opinions to balance out (or justify) our concerns with awanas. Our kids went once last week and I attended also. There were lots of things that gave me a red flag. Our kids would ...
