Re: Steve Gregg comments on the history of Dispensationalism

I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts about the recent dispensationalism before Darby book.

Re: What should a pastor do? Coronavirus edition

1. I agree that laws that "violate our Christian duties" can be ignored or protested. Fair enough, regarding covid19. I've just assumed there are state/local laws regarding general emergency powers. Darin has good thoughts. 2. I agree with all of your political/social positions, I'm sure. I don't th...

Re: What should a pastor do? Coronavirus edition

First, Singalphile, I did not say the state's mandate is to uphold " social justice, " but rather, "societal justice." I know the terms should be interchangeable, but that cannot be assumed today, when "social justice " is specifically a buzzword for " identity politics "—or "institutional injustic...

Re: What should a pastor do? Coronavirus edition

A very similar question was asked in a recent TNP program, and I have to say that I was a little disappointed. I don't think Paul (nor Peter) states that I can disobey laws as long as they do not aim to "maintain social justice" to my satisfaction. Obviously, we are not to commit evil acts or approv...

Re: 10 reason why should NOT be a Trinitarian

Hello, all. I'm listening now. Off the top of my head: 1. Doesn't seem like an argument against trinitarianism. More an atonement argument. 2. Uni/bi/Tri-nitarians all view Jesus as fully human - a resurrected human being. 3. That's closer to a relevant argument, but I don't think it's fairly dealin...

Re: Chuck Colson quote

A couple thoughts came to my mind as I read Colson's quote. 1. He overstates the case, I think. We don't know all that much about the apostles. 2. Conspiracies and secrets were easier 2,000 years ago. So, Colson goes a little overboard, sure, but the point is that the good testimony and character of...

Re: Should Trump Be Removed from Office

A bit off topic, but I wonder what views folks have of the "government" being on his shoulder. I dont follow. Innumerable men and women have had the gov't on their shoulder. Political plots and wrangling interests me no more than sports (not that there's anything wrong with being interesting in tho...

Re: Preaching in Acts and Christology

So, I did distinguish between "son" as in paternity vs. "son" as in title. That He was the son in the paternal sense is not in question (after all, He was conceived by the HS and not Joseph) -- the question is whether the title has more meaning than that and the only place that is addressed clearly...

Re: Should Trump Be Removed from Office

If you want to know the perspective of someone who doesn't follow politics, here it is: 1. I am generally saddened by Christians who get make these kinds of grand political pronouncements. I think it's a waste of time at best, and that it does more harm than good in promoting the gospel. 2. Nothing ...

Re: Preaching in Acts and Christology

I do think that Jesus, as the word/logos, was with God and was God and had glory with God (all references from John) before His incarnation. I also don't think Romans 1:4 necessarily means what you say it means, if you mean that He was not the Son of God before His resurrection. Jesus was referred t...
