The seven spirits
Hi Steve (or anyone else for that matter), I am currently listening to your 2012 lectures on Revelation. When discussing the seven spirits you mentioned that the best suggestion you have heard is that this is a reference to the Holy Spirit, but it sounded like that didn't gel very well with you, as ...

Re: Birth control
Therefore, I think you could at least assume that Solomon was inspired by God when he wrote: I would agree that Solomon was "inspired by God", but I don't think that is the same thing as attributing what he wrote to what God said. Using that logic, one could, for example, take the words of Job's 3 ...

Birth control
I was listening to a show in the archives from last month, in which birth control was discussed. As I recall, the last word was something along the lines of "if God says that children are a blessing why would anyone want to use birth control?" I assume that Steve was referring to Psalm 127, but if t...

Re: James 4:5
Thanks Steve, The punctuation makes sense, but the flow of the thought seems convoluted. How about something like this: Do you think that the Scripture speaks in vain? The spirit that dwells in us lusts with envy, but He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to...

Re: 2 Tim 4:10 - Demas deserting Paul
That makes sense. I was thinking of Jn 3:16. Looking at the Greek again, I notice that the greek word interpreted "world" is "aion", which also seems to fit with the negative slant. Does this then imply that Crescens and Titus had similar motives for leaving Paul, since no other details are given?

Re: New Lectures at website
Hey Sean,
I also thought that at first, but then realised that the first two are an introduction to the historical books. Then the Joshua lectures begin. Listening to them at the moment.
