Re: Should Christians engage in culture wars?
I was commenting about this very thing to my wife just the other day. I thought it odd that Christians were pushing the law that covered the less fortunate with affordable health care. Christians that believe the less fortunate should be helped, should adopt one family per family and pay their medic...

Re: Should Christians engage in culture wars?
Once, when Christians were being tortured and fed to lions, it was VERY unpopular, to say the least, to be Christian. After Constantine, it became chic and favorable to be a Christian. It certainly didn't cost you a trip to the lion's den. As the Catholic Church grew in size and power, it just becam...

Re: Wounds in Christ's resurrected body?
It is important to remember that the people who did not recognize him because it was said, "...they supposed that they had seen a spirit", does not indicate that he was in a spirit form. He was physically resurrected. The disciples in the boat, "...supposed he was a spirit" when he walked to them on...

Re: Jehovahs Witnesses
To teach that Jesus was a created angel, that he was not physically resurrected, that only 144,000 go to heaven, and that his death only satisfied 144,000 and the rest of us have to "follow rules" and hope we get paradise earth are all reasons to steer clear. In my opinion, the Mormons are far more ...

Old Testament Commandments
What are Christians to make of the dietary laws from the Old Testament? I have seen a few Seventh Day Adventist shows on the NRB (or the Christian channels around it) and they really harp on keeping the seventh day. It seems they speak 50 times more about that, than about Jesus. And some of the show...

"Just not attracted to them anymore"
I have a friend whose wife cheated on him 15 years ago. She had a child from the affair. The other guy took his wife and family and left the state. My friend wanted to keep the marriage intact. Their church had them in counseling, they "dated" and were counseled to have "relations" and she was told ...

Re: The Church Service
Last week our pastor mentioned that his philosophy has always been to "go out and get" the next one. He said he wasn't going to concern himself about "keeping them". I think that Jesus 'keeps" you so long as you are really "gotten". I think that the "get" has been emphasized so much that it's gettin...
