My son's story

Yesterday my son turned two years old. I thought I would share his amazing story here to praise God for His grace and mercy. In 2008 my wife and I found out that we were expecting our third child. As was the case with our other two boys, the pregnancy was going great. Around week 30, the OB/GYN want...

Re: caller on Matthew 24/double fulfillment of prophecy

That was a good point that you made about them probably not understanding him that way Steve. Is it possible though that even though they didn't mean the question that way, that he answered it in a different way? It seems like the early disciples misunderstood what Jesus taught almost more than they...

Re: caller on Matthew 24/double fulfillment of prophecy

Interesting, thanks for the post. If that's true, thats seems like taking alot of liberty with what the text actually says but maybe that's just me...

caller on Matthew 24/double fulfillment of prophecy

Yesterday Steve got a call from someone asking about the idea of double fulfillment of prophecy. Steve used Matthew 24 as an example many futurists point to. He mentioned how the Matt. 24 response was to the question of when will the temple be destroyed, but what I didn't hear Steve point out is tha...

Re: Could Jesus Have Saved Himself?

I do not think that Jesus had the power to remove Himself from the cross, any more than I would if I was crucified today. The angels would have helped him had he called, but he did not. He could not "come down from the cross" as his scorners urged him on his own initiative. He was not a superman-- ...

Re: Virgin Birth - Original Sin (Christ)

I have a lot more I could say about this but I have not organized it well yet. I think the fact that we have free will is proof that God has free will. Maybe there should just be a thread titled "God's Free Will". This brings up a whole other discussion (a good one though). I think I have to disagr...

Re: Virgin Birth - Original Sin (Christ)

The idea of the ability of Jesus to sin is something I've struggled with. It seems that the Bible speaks about Jesus having the ability to sin, but as candepower has pointed out that's really an assumption on our part. I've heard some theologians explain it this way - the temptation of Jesus was not...

Re: Virgin Birth - Original Sin (Christ)

I think that children sinning before they know better is proof of the concept of original sin. I have to disagree here, because IMO even if Jesus sinned as a child before He knew better then He still could not be considered perfect. In the light of your view that Jesus was perfect (even as a child)...

Sins of a child are pardonable offenses in the eyes of God IMO but ...
