Re: Revisiting Acts 13:48

I apologize for falling off the bandwagon to my own thread. I just want to say that I have discovered the most clear explanation of acts 13:48 that settled the issue in my mind, however I would be open to criticism against the position. http://books.google.com/books?id=LYCOTh4jpFoC There is the book...

Re: Revisiting Acts 13:48

Hey guys. I'm back! Since I am currently in school and remodeling a house, I don't have a lot of time. I did want to throw this reference out to you guys. I think it is possibly the best interpretation of Acts 13:48 that I have ever heard. Let me know what you guys think. I discovered it at Google B...

Re: Radio Debate: White (Calvinist) Vs. the Forsters (Arminians)

Thanks for posting this. It is something I am still struggling with. I feel the God who James White presents isn't good, but scripturally, I am almost convinced that this is the accurate portrait of God. What do you do when you are convinced that the accurate image of God doesn't seem good? It makes...

Tychicus wrote: This also makes perfect sense, although I don't think Luke necessarily meant that every Gentile who lived in the city was there. I may have not spoken clearly on this point. I don't believe that "ALL" of the gentiles were present in the city. When I said "ALL", I was referring to th...

Re: Revisiting Acts 13:48

I just thought of this the other day and haven't had an opportunity to share it with you guys yet. I haven't posted much, but I have been reading what you all have been saying. Lately I have been paying close attention to the groups of people who were present during the time Luke made this statement...

Re: Revisiting Acts 13:48

I'm just darting out the door for work, and I thought this post had already died. But since it didn't, I want to just agree with what Sean just said.

This is the same problem which prevented my original interpretation from working.

Sincerely,
Chris

Full Time Ministry?

Hello everyone, I have been recently wrestling around with the idea of continuing my pursuit in full time ministry as a career. When I originally started going to school at Grand Canyon University, I intended on going into Pastoral Counseling. After about one year of attending school there, I change...

Re: Revisiting Acts 13:48

Sean, I have appreciated your responded thoroughly. I did the research, and you are right. It's unusual that some (if not most) of the translations make "ethnos" out to be "the people". This whole entire verse looks completely different in the KJV then it does in most translations. Acts 13:42 (KJV) ...
