I`m disposed to agree.

But "he who is not against me is for me" seems to cut those on the fence more slack than you or I in our zeal might. No?

For or against me

How are we to reconcile Jesus`apparently contradictory statements do you think?: he who is not for me is against me Matt 12v30 he who is not against me is for me Mark 9v40 I read here* the imaginative explanation that in Matt 12v30 he`s referring to evil spirits but in Mark9v40 he`s referring to peo...

Chuck Colson quote

I posted a meme with this text on my FB page: "“I know the resurrection is a fact, and Watergate proved it to me. How? Because 12 men testified they had seen Jesus raised from the dead, then they proclaimed that truth for 40 years, never once denying it. Every one was beaten, tortured, stoned and pu...

Re: Letter to a newly-Catholic friend

brilliant post Steve. Do you think the mere construction of a building is the start of the slippery slope to institutionalization? Would it have been better for us to have always met in our homes or even outside and simply wrapped up warm when necessary? I have always thought so, but would be intere...

Re: Immodesty

Brilliant answer and I think we`d all agree.

However I can imagine a grey area scenario: a Christian camp in 95° sizzling heat. Then perhaps the men just have to grit their psychological teeth as the women dress accordingly. Maybe. I don`t know. It`s a difficult one.

Voices

I suppose I`m begging the question by posting this under this heading.

But do you think the brain can produce real voices/chatter in these people`s minds?

I`d be interested in your thoughts. Thanks

Re: Prayers please

It would seem that way to me dwight. Spiritualizing an actual event like that (removal of the plate in my neck) could seem loony to some (even to Christians), except that God applied Isaiah 52 v1-12 at a very significant point in time (following my desparate "lucky dip" opening at that page the day ...

Re: Prayers please

Mike, Homer, TK, Jarrod, Robby, Dwight thank you for your prayers. All went well. I had had a titanium plate in my neck at throat level since a motor bike accident in 2004. Out of the blue, 13 years later a bacterial infection flared up and the plate had to come out. The doctors were perplexed that ...

Re: The Vision of Peter in Acts 10:9-16

Carmine and Steve, I like both your answers, thank you! Not only does this view on that matter remedy many potential "contradictions" between the OT and the NT, but it fits what I`ve experienced of God in my life. Outside the Scriptures He has not often told me something directly, but usually commun...
