Re: Meeting tonight...tips?

Thank you. That's what I tried to focus on...my concern for him and my brotherly love for him. I did try to be clear with scripture and at times when I didn't know something specific, I was honest about it. I started the conversation by asking how the witnessing was going to try to make a personal c...

Meeting tonight...tips?

I met with a Jehovah's Witness last Friday. Tried to build a connection, let him know my concern, discussed the deity of Christ a little bit and the fact that sinners will be judged and not just obliterated. He's coming back tonight for a second meeting. I have studied up on scripture and their posi...

Re: Preschool or not?

Here's a question I think might be worth considering. Should a person be part of the public education system at all in terms of employment? Does teaching in the system perpetuate the system? Also, for those weary of public education, what if the parents were teachers or worked at the school and actu...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

I know I speak and write sometimes very directly, but I hope you don't take offense at these words. I only try to give strong reasons for why I believe. I am also trying to work on and maintain a sincere sense of love and gentleness. Have a good day :-)

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

Jill, sometimes it seems like there's a bit of nonsensicalness to your words (no offense in the slightest meant). Perhaps this is part of your seemingly postmodern radical skepticism. However, this is the only other consistent worldview you can resort to besides the Christian faith. Steward Smalley ...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

Jill, it's all good. I just hope that you're not hiding behind entanglements of your own concoction. Truth is straightforward. I think that's why Jesus said that one needs to become like a child to be part of the kingdom. Besides children that lie, they're particularly both innocent and straightforw...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

Jill, are you outside the US? I ask because your writing is sometimes very awkward for me to understand. On the other hand, you seem, in your writing, to not understand what is written in other posts. What do you mean by "scientifically irrational modulations?" You still have yet to provide any mean...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

Jill, why choose to pontificate? You have done nothing more than offer denials, denials so consistent with an infinite skeptic. If you compare the two most disparate manuscripts of the New Testament (Wescott/Hort vs. Byzantine) do you come up with a different Jesus? No. Amidst all of the rapid, dece...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

Darin, cool thanks for the link on the new audio. I've only listened to all of Bahnsen's videos on youtube, a little of White's approach, and Kerrigan Skelly. I'd like to hear more formal debates with presuppositional apologetics involved. Jill said: To an ousider, the term "Presuppositional Apologe...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

Brody, I agree with you. Nobody else except for the Christian can present a logically consistent foundation and framework for epistemology, logic, ethics, and the uniformity of nature. The only other thing a person can hold to is exactly what Darin said...just asserting that these laws are and have ...
