Re: Church of the firstborn.

I would agree with that view of baptism for the most part. Though, I often wonder, that a person is saved by faith in God and that journey always begins somewhere. If a person is raised in a church or another country where they are taught to say a "sinners prayer" and they begin there journey in tha...

Re: Church of the firstborn.

No, I am not involved in a local bible study. I guess I am still a little confused on what your view of baptism is. You said their view of baptism is similar to yours, yet they misunderstand the real meaning of the word. What is it you think baptism is? I know baptism means to immerse. I know an arg...

Re: Church of the firstborn.

Sam I am, you make a good point. I actually get a little tired of hearing that claim from them because no one can ever prove it. It always just seems like an arrogant assumption. I will have to look more into your information, that will be a good thing to bring up. Thanks.

Re: Church of the firstborn.

Is this church the same as the one here in Brownsville? I read over the "about our beliefs" section on their website and found the following of interest: 1) IMO they misundertand the passage in James 5 about calling the elders regarding physical illness; I see this passage as relating to spiritual i...

Church of the firstborn.

I was raised in this church and am curious to know what some of you might think about their theology. If any one has time to peruse around the website and look it over, let me know what you think. Thanks

Re: Looking for church

I live in the same area. I have been looking for a church for quite a while and have started to regularly attend the Calvary Chapel in Corvallis. I don't think that is how church was originally designed, but I also think church is about people. So, you go to where the people are.

Re: The Fall (unplugged).

Hi Karen, I think these verses shed a little light on the garden story. 1Ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 1Ti 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and ...

Re: Worship "In Spirit and Truth"

Hello Neighbor, If I am driving down the road and my kids are fighting in the back seat, I might turn around and say "Hey, don't touch your brother." A few minutes later I hear a scream and look back and see that the same child is hitting the other child with a stuffed animal. "Well" he would say,"I...

Re: Really would like some feedback.

Michelle, Yes thank you for your response. You had me chuckling a little bit with how you tore the whole thing apart. I actually got that link from my Dad. He sent me the video and asked for a response via email... I think I will copy your post and send it to him. You did a far better critique than ...

Re: Gold Teeth

Well I guess the search for fellowship continues. The hazard at this point is trying to decide which doctrinal areas to compromise for the sake of just getting together with people. I worry too with the way the whole country is headed I think it is important to plug in somewhere with like-minded peo...
