Historically, I agree that gehenna is the valley outside Jerusalem. However,presently, I understand gehenna to be the "hell" which many (or possibly all) people will experience when they are raised from the dead. Notwithstanding, this is not a decided belief on my part. It may refer only to the historic place. I am in the process of trying to learn whether the concept of it being only the historic place outside Jerusalem is consistent with the teaching of Christ.Are you understanding gehenna to be hell or the valley outside Jerusalem?
