Question: Is Ezekiel 38/39 future and requires 1948 Israel?
In general what have folks like Chuck Missler gotten wrong about these two chapters?

Re: Is Ezekiel 38/39 future and requires 1948 Israel?
It is hard to spiritualize all this as historical and seems rather silly to do so - especially since 1948. The maligned "Newspaper Exegisis" does not seem to be do silly in these sections of the bible. This should probably not be dismissed with "prophetic imagery" broadbrushing either. Nothing in 70 AD accounts for this and thus 1948 AD would seem foolish to downplay.

Do you think it's awkward that the Gog and Magog war happens twice (that the Ezekiel one is different than the Revelation one)?

I have nothing to say about any interpretation of Ezekiel's prophecy, But I will say this: Aaron (Art) Katz, converted Jew and powerful speaker, believed that the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 was NOT the fulfillment of prophecy, but came about entirely as a result of the doings of man.
