I agree with Homer. The thought for thought idea is why abortions are legal and now same-sex marriage. Roughly half of the people in the US think
those things are in our constitution.

I don't feel comfortable accepting thought translations from anyone that might think the Bible is a "living" document to be updated to the times.

I have recently come to enjoy the KJV again. I got the Westminster Reference Bible, which is great because it defines archaic words in the margin. This way it is not much more difficult to understand than other word for word translations. Highly recommended for those who want to read the KJV but struggle with the language.
