I used heart, soul and mind because it divides a human into three parts but it does'nt precisely reflect body/soul/spirit because in hebrew "nepesh" or soul is used in a variety of ways. Steve7 ~ Will you please describe in more detail how heart/soul/mind and body/spirit overlap? Please contrast and...

From these scriptures, in your explantion, I can see why you think all punishment must happen during our lifetime. Isn't it possible that all judgment and subsequent punishment could be completed before the resurrection but not necessarily in our lifetime?

Happy New Year!

It is commonly believed that Christians are "justified", which is a forensic term. This would be more or less analogous to being found "not guilty" in one of our courts. If we stand before Christ on judgement day as justified, what need would we have for mercy? Perhaps the mercy spoken of is shown ...

James is referring to fellow believers about the subject of faith and works and the power of the tongue and mercy shown by believers. That's not to say mercy is not a big part of God's charactor but so is judgement. Btw how did you find this website? Hello Steve ~ I'm certain you are right. Your id...

James 2:12-13 12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment! Steve ~ Here it is in the King James Version text. To all of you, I am grateful for lea...

Matt 5:38-42 38 "You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' 39 But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41 I...

Hello Homer ~ Some Christians (including myself) will at times commit one or more of those listed sins perhaps without always being aware of having done so. (That 'selfish ambitions' one could step on many toes. . . happens on the hour in my busy household). Is there a dividing line that must not be...
