I hope somebody can help arrange this debate. Dr. Shabir is a very respectful Muslim debater and it would be great if Steve could have this debate with him..all in the spirit of truth search.

Re: About Original Sin and Destined for Hell
Hi TK,
Thanks for the link. The discussion was comprehensive in deed with so many strong points raised.
It would've been great though had Steve joined in the discussion.
God bless.

About Original Sin and Destined for Hell
Hi! In case there has been a through discussion already on the concept of original sin...can somebody please point me to it (them)? Also, is it reasonable to think that the entire human race became doomed to hell the moment Adam sinned and became separated from God? Would it be perfectly just for Go...

Re: Quran's Superiority to the Bible?
If you've ever actually taken the time to look at a Quran (or Koran), you would be able to tell the difference on sight. The Quran is so beautiful and lucid. It has been worked on much. It may even compete with ancient Hindu writings in this regard. The Quran is not like the Tanakh in any way. And ...

Re: Quran's Superiority to the Bible?
Thanks for all the response! Seems to me that when God does want a command/law to be obeyed He states it clearly in His word. Prophecies on the other hand are meant to arouse expectations, raise hopes and rekindle interests among those who love the truth...and thus 'tempt' those whose heart is in pu...

Quran's Superiority to the Bible?
I'm having a discussion with a muslim apologist. He contended that the Quran is superior to the Bible. One point he brought up was Biblical prophecies are hard to understand with their poetic language and all. Quranic prophecies are plainer. His challenge was..If God would send His word in the form ...

Re: God's Omni-Benevolence
I'm really enjoying the healthy exchange of information in this thread. I hope everyone is profiting from it as much as I am. Here's my 2 cents.. People's perception of the good ness or the bad ness of an occurrence is very subjective. It depends so much on their current state of being i.e. physical...

Re: God's Omni-Benevolence
I came across these lines of thought... Is God willing to prevent evil but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. He is able but not willing? Then he is malevolent. He is both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God. -- Epicurus I believe that G...

Re: God's Omni-Benevolence
Jesus stated that not one sparrow falls to the ground apart from the Father. To me that indicates, as the children's hymn states, "God sees the little sparrow fall." Jesus didn't say that it is the Father's will that it fall. But in verse 29, it was stated that 'NOT one of them [birds] falls to the...

Re: God's Omni-Benevolence
Where I strongly disagreed (and still do) is that "God has a good purpose in all that he allows". Indeed, I wouldn't even say that He "allows" these evil deeds. To "allow" something is to give tacit approval of it. However, it is clear that God usually does not PREVENT these evil deeds. Hi Padion, ...
